Game Over by juzmental Game Over by juzmental
Way back in the late 80s, I remember buying an Amiga magazine with an advert for the game Gameover. I really liked the pic so decided to make a version of it.

I later added the FF (for Freedom Force) when I joined the demo group Freedom Force.

I'm amazed at what I used to do with the limitations I had to work with back then.. 320x256 and 32 colours.. lol

DPaint + Amiga + I don't even remember if the game ever did get released!

Game Over by ~juzmental - This piece of PixelArt was created with 32 colours using deluxe paint and an Amiga in the 1980s...A genuine piece of PixelArt memorabilia. Juzmental has just uploaded his work from way back then, into his Gallery. It is a fascinating collection, all from that era. It was not an easy choice deciding which one to feature. this is fascinating, you know?
i am only 17, so seeing pixel art from back then, it's like archeology to me! and i love it.
to know that back then it looked like that and was so limited in colors.. must have been a challenge, very well done!

As is stated in the picture description.. I'm not taking any credit for the design of the picture or anything.

Back in the late 80s I bought a mag with this image in an advert for the game Game Over.. As I said, I liked the image and decided to make a version of it.

it's just... wow :) great job!

By the way, I think the original picture in the magazine could be from Luis Royo. I somehow remember seeing it in a Royo gallery somewhere.

It does look like it might be a Royo pic.. I did a search and found this: [link]

and you can see it's signed L.Royo - it's not the original ad artwork though (just another version of it which caused a bit of an uproar because of the girls clothing :) ), but still rather cool..

It's good to see how Royo's artwork has changed in 20 years. :)

I checked out the link but got some sort of gateway timeout error. But yeah, I've found it too: [link]

An uproar because of the clothing... funny, it's pretty much clothing for a Royo pic :D

And don't mind the people who don't read artist's comments ;)

Ah ha! wow, that's the full version of the pic! And a different version to the one I found and linked to. I still remember seeing the pic and it grabbed my attention straight away.. It's funny that 20 years later I remembered what the game was called, but never had found out or knew who the artist was!

Thanks for the enlightenment!

I think that the lack of colours to work with and the time I had spent on the pic meant I probably overlooked trying to make that shoulder look better. :) That, plus the fact I would have been around 15 years old at the time I made it and 15 year olds are notoriously lazy. :) Now I;m almost 35 and probably no different. lol
