I've just posted a preview of a new skin I am working on. It's a World of Warcraft skin, but technically a whole lot better than the one I started a while back.
The idea with this one was to make use of Astra's theming strengths and offer the one skin with a whole lot of different themes. So far I have a Horde and Alliance theme - but would eventually like to have a theme for each race, and one non-faction related theme as the default.
The test was to see how well I could do it, but basically I have a set of 3 layers at the lowest point in the skin for stuff that appears under the actual list-shield area. Then the actual shield/list layer sits in the middle and then I have about 4 or so layers on top for all the things that sit on top of the list.
Thanks to Astra's super layering ability this made the theming easy. A whole lot easier than I was expecting actually!
All I have to do is make an image file for each theme that has the appropriate pics in it, and when the theme is switched, it swaps out the gfx for the required stuff.
Easy stuff really, and not as complex as I thought it would even be. Theme's in astra are quite powerful. You can use them for making Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustments to certain images or text entities, or you can swap out image files totally for different files. Brilliant stuff.

Thanks for the watch!
